Yes, we are doing it again! After our first Botanical Experience LAB held in April 2025, we want to continue our artistic journey into the plant world of Aegina.

In this three-day botanical exploration journey, we invite you to take up your pencils and brushes to capture the essence of plants through drawing and painting. Drawing plants, which also means drawing with plants, is all about exercising and refining our ability to perceive them as living organisms as valuable as ourselves. With pencil in hand and plants before our eyes, we will interweave looking and seeing with observation, and approach their green world together with you.

By trying out different techniques, from accurate botanical drawing and painting to experimental approaches, participants will be able to connect with and pursue the form that fits them best.

Drawing plants from real life above all requires close observation and a wholehearted attempt to understand the forms, details and makings of a specific plant. We can’t draw or paint what we don't first try to understand and establish a connection with. Every time we closely observe nature, we have the chance to learn more about nature’s wealth of interwoven connections and the web of earthly life.

Pursuing the idea of an artistic “plant diary”, specially selected sketchbooks will be provided to all participants. Page by page, they will be filled with plant sketches during the workshop, and we sincerely hope that you will continue to fill them with more sketches over time!

The envisioned programme:

We will spend our first day at the wonderful The Cool Projects courtyard and outdoor atelier. On this day, snacks and drinks will be provided. The second day will visit the almost untouched inland locations surrounding the Virgin Mary Chrysoleontissa Holy Convent, while the third day will include a trip to the magical landscape surrounding the Temple of Aphaia.
