Colour, Decoration and Painting on Ceramic Learn how to decorate ceramic objects with Laskarina Haldaiaki & marina coriolano-lykourezos in greek and english For adults and/ or for children of 6 and above with parents minimum 5, maximum 12 participants An introductory workshop in the art of decorating and painting ceramic surfaces of various shapes and sizes. Learn about the colours used in ceramics, stains and oxides, how to mix them and create your own colours and shades, how to use them and make your own designs. We will begin with some theory and references to classical and traditional methods of drawing, painting and decorating on ceramic objects. Then, you will choose 1 to 3 objects on which you will draw and paint a particular design of your own. There will be total freedom of choice on what and how to draw, paint and decorate – the idea is to have fun and enjoy the process. The finished pieces will then be glazed in order to be fired that same evening so that you can take them with you at the end of the workshop, and arrive back home with a piece of your weekend experience in your hands. On Sunday morning, we will start with a visit to the Archaeological museum of Aegina, where we will be babe to see and study the decoration of some items. From there, we will wander through the port, enjoy a little walk that will end up in a tavern for a delicious lunch. We will go back to the workshop for coffee and to open the kiln, filled with beautiful surprises. This weekend workshop is ideal for people who are already on the island, or those who wish to combine a little, summer break with a creative activity. Included in the workshop: all materials, firing of pieces, visit to the museum as well as coffee, tea, drinks and snack throughout the day. Not included: transport, accommodation, lunch and dinner.
