Join renowned ceramic artist Kala Stein for an immersive 8-day workshop exploring the art and culture of Greece. The workshop begins in Athens with visits to world-famous museums and ancient sites before transitioning to the serene Aegina Island for hands-on studio sessions, cultural engagement, and inspiration drawn from the island’s rich artistic traditions.  With a focus on experimentation, collaboration, and the unique clay of Aegina, this experience is perfect for ceramic enthusiasts seeking to refine their skills and deepen their understanding of Greek culture.

 

Itinerary Highlights

Athens (May 8–9, 2025):

  • Welcome reception and group dinner.

  • Guided tours of the National Archaeological Museum and the Cycladic Art Museum.

  • Free time to explore the historic city on your own.

Aegina Island (May 10–15, 2025):

  • Transfer by ferry to Aegina and settle into accommodations.

  • Daily ceramic instruction with Kala Stein and independent work time at The Cool Projects Ceramic Studio.

  • Cultural site visits and learning opportunities with local ceramic artists.

  • A gallery evening and farewell dinner celebrating participant creations.

    Kala Stein is a celebrated ceramic artist and educator known for her innovative approaches to pottery and tile design. With 25 years of experience, she has taught workshops worldwide, including Italy, China, and California. Kala holds an MFA from Alfred University and operates her studio in Sonoma, California.
